An update on the state of this blog

First off, I have to say, thank you to everyone who has followed this blog faithfully since I started it in 2015. You mean so much to me.

But further to that, you may have noticed I haven’t been posting as frequently lately.

This is for a couple reasons: first, because I’m working on a book proposal that up until now I have avoided talking about on the internet. I’m not going to say more about that here except that it involves more in-depth stuff around the politics of mental health and I’m really excited to be able to share it with you all. More info to come when it’s availble.

Second, because I’ve had a bit of a difficult summer mental health-wise, and one of the ironies of writing about the lived experience of mental health is that sometimes your own lack of mental health kind of gets in the way of working on things as much or as quickly as other writers.

However! I do plan to keep writing and I’m hoping to have something out as early as this week, and at least one more piece every month for the rest of this year while I continue to work on my book proposal.

The point here, however, is that I could really use your help. If you’re able, please consider buying me a coffee at

Every “coffee” will help achieve three things:

– Get me a coffee or a tea that is a necessary part of my creative process (these days most of my writing gets done at local coffee shops).

-Help pay to renew my domain names and other software licenses that are due this fall.

– Give me a bit of encouragement and a reminder that y’all want to read my work, so I stay motivated to keep doing this stuff.

If you’re not able to support me right now, that’s also totally okay! As faithful readers, you already do enough. Thank you for that.

So much love,
